SUSPECTED CULT MEMBERS CAUGHT BY SARS OPERATIVES

Operatives of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad, SARS, recovered seven machetes, axes and other weapons from suspected cult members yesterday. The police said that the two suspects were arrested while planning to embark on a revenge mission at Imota area of Ikorodu, Lagos State on January 15, New Telegraph reports.
Recovered from them are one cut-to-size locally-made gun with three live cartridges, two battle axes, two knives, seven machetes and four live ammunition of 9mm calibre. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Chike Oti, said: “The command will go after the fleeing suspects and ensure they are taken away and diligently prosecuted.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, the suspects were arrested after police received information about the cultists’ meeting. Many of the alleged cultists were said to have bolted when they sighted policemen, but the two suspects, Adebowale Oriola (24) and Albert Abiodun (24), were not so lucky.
We are therefore begging people residing in Lagos, wherever they are, to say something, when they see anything in order to keep Lagos State safe.”
